Club nights are held on Wednesday, usually the first of the month (except July & August).
Meetings start promptly at 7pm and finish at 10pm.

14th January
Screening members’ movies and Christmas “spoofs.” Discussion on plans for 2026, increasing membership, and new equipment/software.
4th February — Facebook Reels & “Spoof Ads”
Members will create 10-15 second vertical videos to promote the club. Please bring cameras/phones and ideas! Leader: Steve or Ian.
4th March — CapCut Editing Training
Tutorial on using CapCut (Mobile/PC) focusing on in-camera transitions and effects. Leader: Chris.
8th April — Scene Variation Challenge
“The Same Shot Challenge.” Replicating a 30-second script using different drawn constraints (e.g. handheld vs tripod). Leader: Rob.
6th May — Phone Effects
Creating visual effects “in-camera” (whip-pans, transitions) and pulling them together in CapCut. Leader: Chris.
3rd June — Documentary: “Filming the Filmers”
One group makes a short film while a second group films a “behind the scenes” documentary about them. Leader: Rob.
5th August — Location Trip: Southsea
Filming historic and scenic areas (Old Portsmouth/Fish Dock) for a future promotional video. Full details to follow.
2nd September — Replicate a Movie Clip
Attempting to replicate a famous 30-second movie scene as accurately as possible. Leader: Roger.
7th October — DaVinci Resolve Demo
Technical demonstration of the DaVinci Resolve editing software.
4th November — Scriptwriting & Storyboarding
Teaching the basics of storyboarding and script breakdown. Deadline: Films for the Open Evening must be submitted tonight.
2nd December — Open Evening
Screening of the year’s work for family, friends, and visitors. demonstration and film watching.
